NEW YORK. September 23, 2024 (Hudson Latin Chamber) — The NY & NJ Minority Supplier Development Council, Inc. (NYNJMSDC) — vital link between major corporations and minority business enterprises (MBEs) — held last Thursday, September 19, its 2024 Partnership Awards Gala “Recognizing Diversity at Its Best; Celebrating Champions” at the Gotham Hall, in Midtown New York City.
This year, the organization highlighted exceptional businesses and individuals who have made a significant impact in the world of supplier diversity by celebrating the achievements, milestones and remarkable partnerships that have defined the Council’s rich legacy. Through this event, NYNJMSDC achieved the goal of honoring those who have embraced diversity and inclusion, and fostered growth and innovation across industries.
The event — which was opened by Terrence Clark, President & CEO, NY & NJ MSDC, and had Trung Tieu, Supplier Diversity Program Manager, Chief Operating Officer, Wells Fargo, as MC — featured speakers such as Michael J. Garner, Chief Business Diversity Officer, City of New York; Kamela Forbes, Diversity Business Development Manager, World Wide Technology; Tohma Gadson-Shaw, Director, Supply Chain Sustainability and Supplier Diversity, Con Edison; Timothy P. Kerner, President & Partner, The Millennium Group; Soo Kim, Founder, Managing Parter, & Chief Investment Officer, Standard General, L.P. and Chairman of Bally’s Corporation; Victoria Landau, CEO & Principal, Sequoyah Office Interiors; and Cheryl McCants, Founder & CEO, Impact Consulting Enterprises.
Guests included Heidi Castrillon, President & CEO, Hudson County Latin American Chamber of Commerce (HCLACC); Frank Garcia, Chairman, National Association of State Latino Chambers of Commerce (NASLCC); and Jimmy Candell-Rubira, Vice President of Operations (Latin America, Brazil and the Caribbean) of Hispanic Buying Group; institutions also dedicated to supporting minority businesses.
